Following the exceptional hydrological episode of June 15, 2010 in the Var. Characterized by rainfall levels and flood flows of exceptional intensity. Camping Ecolodge Etoile d’Argens, part of the Sandaya group of 65 campsites, was faced with a major challenge. To protect its buildings from potential future flooding.
The karst terrain, sensitive to seepage, reinforced the consequences of sudden flooding. Infrastructures such as the restaurant, reception, hammam, spa, mini-club and technical facilities were exposed. Camping Sandaya risked considerable damage in the event of flash flooding.
To meet this challenge, Sandaya called on FlowStop and its expertise in flood protection. In all, 75 custom cofferdams were produced:
– FlowStop double cushions up to 59 inch
– full-height FlowStops up to 86,6 inch
The largest FlowStop is 291, 3 inch wide and 59 inch. It took 25 minutes to inflate. In addition, a thorough water test was carried out to guarantee the system’s watertightness and reliability, confirming that there were no leaks.
Over three intensive days, our team mobilized to install each cofferdam with precision. The result was total protection for the campsite’s facilities. This solution enabled Camping Sandaya to protect itself effectively against the risk of flooding. Offering peace of mind to managers and holidaymakers alike in the face of future weather hazards.
